• How something works should outweigh how something looks. Functionality > Appearance.

• If they’ll find out either way, tell them upfront… unless you’re writing a story.

• Feeling like you’ve made tangible progress with writing isn’t as linear as one might assume.

• Comparison is the thief of joy, but can also be the foundation of self confidence.

• There should be recipes, but for haircuts. (If these exist, show me the way.)
